Hope Robots is a Loose collective that fuses ska rap and basically anything it enjoys into art! The project came into being after a chance meeting between gHSTS & gUITARS and Onkel (Orhbooten, https://www.beionkel.de) in Berlin DE, sometime in 2012. gHSTS & gUITARS started writing and producing the song and recruited Reddaz (www.redddaz.com/) and Creature to fill out the vocal and raps (creaturenomicsnyc.bandcamp.com/).
This 3 song e.p. should be sure to satisfy fans of positive political ska and rap every were in the world.

What are Lathe Cut records? In a nutshell:
This record was hand shaped and individually cut in real time using a 1940's Presto 75A recording lathe. It is a unique piece! It is not the same as a traditional pressed record, It was not made in a factory! It was hand carved from a 8ft sheet of poly carbonate plastic, shaped, sanded, waxed and cut in real time by one person.
All records are tested after cutting and will playback correctly on properly weighted turntables.
Lathe Cutting is a process which utilizes a sharp cutting stylus to engrave or emboss sound grooves onto a disk. Lathe cut records are an alternative to the modern practice of pressing records with metal plates. In lathe cutting a voice coil is used to drive a needle which cuts the sound waves into the revolving disk beneath it. This method has long been used for producing lacquer masters, which are then used to make metal plates for pressing. Most of the machines used for this purpose were manufactured pre-1960. The machine used (Presto 75A) began production in 1938.
